Recently Published: “SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE LAST DAYS” How to Persevere in Perilous Times, By Arnold W. Weckeman
INTRODUCTION: “The night is far spent, the day is at hand…” (Rom. 13:12)
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Although written more than two thousand years ago, the above Scripture provides a window into the present. The “latter days” will be characterized by a “falling away” (2 Thess. 2:3) from the truth. An accelerating departure from biblical Christianity to religion and philosophy, from the Word of God to the traditions of man, from sound doctrine to false doctrine, from the pure Word to the impure, from edification to entertainment, from steadfastness to compromise and mixture.
“For the time will come when they will NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4) [Emphasis added].
The hour is late, and the time is upon us.
We believe the larger part of contemporary Christianity is guilty of neglect concerning the “perfecting of the saints.” The shallow teachings of “modern Christianity” leave the multitude of God’s people unlearned, unguarded, and unprepared for the challenges of the final hours of the Church age ” tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine…” (Eph. 4:14).
Satan’s first and foremost strategy is deception; the Word of God warns that in the end times, “…evil men and seducers shall wax [grow] worse and worse, DECEIVING, and being DECEIVED” (2 Tim. 3:13). “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be FALSE TEACHERS among you…” (2 Peter 2:1) [All emphasis mine].
Today, as the relentless encroachment of secular humanism, Darwinism and Neo-Marxism is undermining Western Culture (America’s Judeo Christian moral and spiritual heritage), likewise, the subversive doctrines of liberal theology have led to a culture of compromise and doctrinal corruption. The “modern (entertainment-oriented) Churches” have incrementally surrendered to the ever-increasing influence of a self-absorbed, depraved “politically correct” society. All of which has led to a “Cross less Christianity” …compatible with modern culture.
In reality, we are living in a post-Christian era. “Cultural Christianity” has drifted far from “Biblical Christianity,” away from the fundamental doctrines vital to its effectiveness and spiritual well-being. As prophesied, this progressive, malignant worldly influence has today reached its pinnacle.
Ephesians 4:11-15 encapsulates the goal of our mission:
11″And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” [Emphasis mine].
The above verses state the purpose and goals of spiritual mentorship, providing both exhortation and explanation concerning the development of Christ-like character: “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect [mature] man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ…”, “…a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use” (2 Tim. 2:21) [Emphasis added]. We desire to train up “soldiers” for Jesus Christ in these last days.
The hour’s need is to get back to the “fundamental doctrines” of “biblical Christianity.”
The purpose of this website is to advocate for the revival of the “fundamental doctrines” of biblical Christianity. A return to the faith’s time-honored truths, stressing the critical importance of sound biblical teaching through the essential principle of “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). We believe in “One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God” and one Bible. We hold to God’s pure Word (providentially inspired and preserved) in the King James Bible, not man, to be the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice.
This website is intended to be a tool for discipleship, highlighting the sanctification [growth] process to which every “born again” believer should aspire. “Salvation is the miracle of a moment; sanctification is the process of a lifetime.” Salvation is much more than personal deliverance from eternal condemnation; Christians are saved to grow and serve the Lord. The second birth is what you receive from God when you repent and trust Christ with your soul; sanctification concerns what God gets from you when you learn to trust Him with your life.
The various subjects listed on the site aim to reveal the underlying principles of sanctification (spiritual growth process) through an in-depth study of the “fundamental doctrines” of God’s Word. The spiritual understanding and vision necessary to “grow in grace, and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…” (2 Peter 3:18). To this end, the site has two primary areas of study: First, listed either on the right sidebar or the bottom of the welcome page, you will find ten topics under the header “Learning the Bible.” The subjects listed are the basics, “the milk of the word” foundational building blocks of sound doctrine. The second section, found under “Living the Bible,” lists numerous topics that delve deeper. Subjects which the Bible refers to as “strong meat.” These (much neglected) subjects provide the “spiritual understanding” (Col.1:9) necessary to put off the “old man” and put on the “new man” to “…walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4) to the glory of God.
Also, on the main menu bar (top of the page) under the heading “Articles,” you can access various articles covering additional subjects that play an essential role in the believer’s spiritual development.
The video trailer at the top of this page highlights my recently published book, “SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE LAST DAYS,” which complements the website content. The book can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Xulon Press.
In every generation, “The Lord knoweth them that are his…” (2 Tim. 2:19). During times of spiritual darkness, God always has a “remnant.” (Rom.11:3-5). Those who seek to know and live the truth regardless of the cost. The steadfast who refuse to compromise their convictions. Our purpose is to equip those who understand the times in which we live. To encourage the faithful who grasp the significance of the current cultural crisis and the consequent decline of sound biblical teaching, to hold fast the “…old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls” (Jerm.6:16).
“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Matt. 11:15). “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it…” (Isa. 30:21).
